What was the number one song in the UK on 29th January 1969?

British-American rock band, Fleetwood Mac hit the top spot for 1 week with Albatross. Albatross is a guitar-based instrumental that suggests a relaxing sea setting. The cymbals imitate the sound of waves crashing and at times the guitar almost sounds like seagulls in the distance. It’s a dreamy and very soothing tune, but possibly a tad boring (yeah, you heard me right). Anyway, we all remember it being used on the M&S food porn ads, yes? It fitted perfectly and to me, it’s not much more than a lovely back track.
